Warm The Children

The Register Citizen and United Way of Northwest CT are teaming up once again to make sure no child goes cold with our Annual Warm The Children program, but we need your help! Currently each agency is able to give 10 children the ability to be warm this winter. The more Donations that are given, the more children can be helped! Both The Register Citizen, and the NWCT United Way absorb all administrative costs, so 100% of the proceeds are used to buy new, warm winter clothing and footwear for children in need. If you would like to Donate, click the Donation button on the home page of the NWCT United Way website, or you can also go to www.warmthechildren.org. Donations can also be made by mail to the United Way of Northwest Connecticut, P.O. Box 1001, Torrington, CT 06790.

If you have a family in need, and would like to register your child(ren), parents should contact the Vogel Family Resource Center, Salvation Army of Torrington, Salvation Army of Winsted, Friendly Hands Food Bank, FISH of Northwest Connecticut, Falls Village Day Care CenterWinsted Area Child Care Center, and Canaan Child Care Center. Each child age 5-18 (Senior) is entitled to $80 worth of clothing and footwear, $60 age 4 and under. A program coordination will accompany each family to Wal-Mart to ensure that funds are properly spent.
