Connecticut United Ways are partnering with a nonprofit organization called EARN to bring a matched savings program to ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households in the state of Connecticut. EARN could help ALICE households prepare for potentially disastrous situations such as unexpected car accidents, medical emergencies, or it could help prepare to send a child to college. EARN is a six month program, and as long as you save at least $20 per month you will be matched with $10 in additional savings. The EARN Starter Savings Program is for people who earn up to 80% of the the median household income in their region or less.
